Stories, Wisdom, and Medicine from the Ancestral Mothers

Anthologist and Contributing Author: Barbara C. Pamplin

Editor and Contributing Author: Maya L. James

Contributing Authors: Alisa Osunfunke Orduna, Lisanna Ifarebilo Fox,  Tené A. Carter

Riding the waves of new and full moon cycles for nearly two years, a small group of women gathered to venerate their Ancestors, channel Wisdom and messages, and co-create the Medicine to heal themselves and their people.

They are supported by the Cosmic Primordial Ancestral Mothers who go by many names across the planet - the 7 sisters, the 7 Hathors, the 7 Black Doves, the 7 Daughters of Aje, the 7 Sages of the Big Dipper, and others - to deeply connect to the Ancestral Mothers who chose to step forth and pour blessings into the world.

Sometimes there were seven of them, but as the energy flowed, shifted, and settled, five women answered the call of our Ancestral Mothers to form an Ègbé (group or society) on earth.

This work mutually transformed and healed both the writers and their Ancestors, and offers readers the Wisdom and Medicine to do the same in your own way.

**Includes access to a private online Beautiful Powerful Love Academy for digital content, workshops ,and discussion groups with the 7 Sisters Ègbé**

“In telling her thoughts about her relationship with Melvina [the woman who owned her], she wanted to offer me the complexity in the relationship between Black and white women… Until white women are able to acknowledge that their sense of liberation and privilege is not real, rather is managed by white men like a marionette, the potential for trust between Black and white women will be jagged by a psychic divide in the cosmic womb of the great mother. Mary advised, “and yet the world will not heal until Black and white women heal and stand in unity.” This cannot be forced. We must simply embrace our role as light-bearers and protect the remembering of the Divine Feminine, the inner source of women’s intuitive and creative power, from being racialized.”

Great-Great-Great-Grandmother Mary

“Yea, [...] in the woods down by the river was a good time, but could it have been more? Could it have felt different if we all weren’t just trying to survive? You have that option now. In fact, it’s your obligation! Call us to help you remember your strength, your strategy, your resilience but we need you to experience the fullness of life! To experience pleasure that we didn’t get to. Experience the full range of emotions with more focus on the joy side of thangs. We can’t do it, we ain’t there, except in you. Your joy is our joy. Your pleasure is our pleasure. Shit, we all feel the wave when you orgasm just like we felt your heartbreak pain. We need you to feel all the joy, pleasure, and love that we didn’t get to experience. Your body is our altar. We love the table and the food and the rituals but none of that replaces YOU!”
