In this work, Barbara Pamplin looks through the lens of ancestral trauma, the legacy of slavery, and institutional racism to examine the core beliefs that ultimately took a toll on her heart.  After suffering an aortic dissection, a sudden rare disorder with a 1% survival rate, Barbara spent 50 days in the ICU, had three open heart surgeries, and experienced three deaths and resurrections. It was these dire physical experiences that compelled Barbara to get to the root of her emotional pain to realize her spiritual purpose as a Black woman.
